Job Description

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Communication Facilitator with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to join our Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Educational Services Program. This position involves providing communication support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings, facilitating interactions to enhance learning outcomes. Ideal candidates will have ASL proficiency, experience working with children of varying language levels, and the ability to adapt communication modalities as needed.

Requirements

  • American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency.
  • ASLPI Level III and higher preferred.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant college or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience working with children with diverse communication needs.
