Director Toxicology

Job Description

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Director of Toxicology to join Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the lives of patients worldwide. As the Director, Toxicology, you will be responsible for managing nonclinical regulatory toxicology for Jazz portfolio products, overseeing toxicology studies, and contributing to the global nonclinical regulatory strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and support drug development programs from research to registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage direct reports in conducting and interpreting toxicology studies.
• Design toxicology study protocols and reports for regulatory submissions.
• Monitor nonclinical studies at external CROs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide expert input in early development cross-functional teams.
• Conduct peer review of pharmacology and pharmacokinetic protocols.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Pathology, or related field.
• 8-10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in drug development toxicology.
• Expertise in small and large molecules, preferably in oncology and CNS indications.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, EMA, and ICH guidance documents.
• Experience in authoring regulatory submissions and responses to health authorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
