Job Description - Housekeeping Manager

We are looking for a diligent and experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all guest rooms and public areas at Holiday Inn and Suites Gateway. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising housekeeping personnel, ensuring that all tasks are carried out to the highest standards. As a Housekeeping Manager, you will handle guest complaints, manage inventory, supervise new product testing, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create daily assignments and plans for housekeeping staff.
  • Supervise and monitor the performance of Room Inspectors, Room Attendants, Houseman, Laundry, and Night Houseman.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and assign duties to department personnel.
  • Handle guest complaints and maintain inventory of department supplies.
  • Supervise testing of new products for the Housekeeping department.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance department for repairs.
  • Ensure cleanliness standards are met in guest rooms and all storage areas.
  • Conduct monthly inventories and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of hotel housekeeping and cleaning techniques.
  • Detail-oriented in room inspections.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.

Education and Experience

Minimum high school diploma and 3+ years of hotel operations experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Reasoning Ability

Capability to apply common sense, mathematical skills, and interpret business reports.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform essential job functions.

Work Environment

Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining communication and guest service standards.
