Responsibilities

• Enforce sectional and departmental policies and procedures to enhance operations efficiency.
• Monitor supply purchases and working hours, adjusting personnel scheduling with patient census fluctuations.
• Act as the key resource for technical personnel, providing guidance, training, and evaluating new employees' competency.
• Initiate problem-solving processes within the department, keeping supervisors informed of issues and solutions.
• Review and update policy manuals to ensure compliance, conducting competency assessments for staff.
• Evaluate and support individual employee goals for career development.
• Take responsibility for identifying and resolving departmental problems efficiently, reporting to the supervisor as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• MT/MLT certification from ASCP is required.
• 5-7 years of experience as an MT/MLS in a hospital laboratory setting.
